I think season 2 Jinx so far is like... she feels more confident and empowered by her self acceptance, but simultaneously resigned and defeated by it as well? She sounds and looks so tired, and the lack of voices in her head (so far) really gives that sense of emptiness. I'm really curious where her relationship with Isha and Sevika will go, since she doesn't seem to be really attached to either of them... it feels more of a "I guess you could stay around", and I'm curious to see if that'll change

Everybody is talking about how she's so much more confident, but I think she comes across as really empty and dissociative a lot of the time, with the exception of those few moments when grief and anger break through. Such as the moments of letting go of Silco, her pain and anger at seeing Vi in uniform, fighting against Vi in ep 3. She is generally more calm, not as erratic, but I look at her face and think "oh she does NOT look ok". I was not surprised at how ep 3 fight ended, because she had the carefree and "happy" attitude of someone who has decided they're on their way out and no longer need to worry about anything else.

One thing I canāt help but notice is all of the references to Jinxās lack of will to keep living⦠Thereās āHave you had enoughā at the start of Ep 2, Sucker ends on the line āIām already dead insideā, she says āno matter how hard I try, I just canāt seem to dieā, etc. Doesnāt make me feel confident about her future, but perhaps something will inject a will to continue into her. I also thought it was an interesting decision to seemingly get rid of the voices in her head (I thought that Silco would join Mylo in there), but it seems like accepting Jinx has made āit all so quiet nowā.

Jinx full accepting herself as a Jinx has given her this sense of clarity and confidence that she was desperately trying to find last season. I think her getting the chance to talk to Silco before he died really helped her. Even though she shot him and it was an accident, he told her āI wouldnāt have given you to them for anything, youāre perfectā. That directly contradicts the voices haunting her, and you can hear the voices in her head come to a stop right before Vi tries to tell her itās gonna be okay. Silco accepted her for who she was and that gave her the agency to accept herself despite all the trauma, which was what he was trying to do all of Season 1 with her anyway.

Jinx last season was heavily defined by her struggle between picking vi and picking silco, whereas in this season neither of them are options for her anymore so instead of deciding whoās leadership to follow it seems like her arc is more about making decisions for herself and, on a broader scale, figuring out her own goals and actions.

Would love a Caitlyn video! There's barely any out there compared to some other characters, and she was the most intriguing character to me in this act, especially with it being the first time she's gotten a primary narrative spotlight.

I hope you're at least emotionally healing after the finale. I'm trying to but it's a process.

Itās almost like after getting āaffirmationā in the finale last season, sheās now gained this sort of confidence and swagger.

Hard to say, but I would say she appears more calm and kind of excepting f the fact that she is the reason for all the chaos. At least she is in her perspective.

I love everything about Isha as a character and her relationship with Jinx, the name Isha means 'protector', so it's interesting to see her as a mirror of Powder, except able to reciprocate protection towards her 'older sister' unlike Powder was. Apart from protecting Jinx in episode 3, the most obvious example of this is Isha literally using Powder's Whisker bomb to distract a goon so Jinx could shoot him, while Powder was never able to use her own bombs effectively. The Smeech fight feels like the 3 'sisters' are working together, more so than the parallel Powder being a liability, like Powder was. Part of this is due to her ferocity as well, being alone for a while instilled a sense of viciousness that Powder never had until after s1 ep3, we can see it in her introduction, she bites that Smeech goon's hand so quickly as if she'd been taught how to do it in school, like an instinct, and unlike Powder in season 1, Isha goes for a hard jump with minimal hesitation and no need for encouragement. She even glares at the goons when they catch up to her, not with fear, but with disdain, now that she knows she's done for, she makes a point to show no fear. She's much more ferocious, vicious, and determined than Powder was, due to their main difference being that Powder had her hand held her whole life, even literally in her first scene, whereas Isha has been on her own for some time. This allows her to take pride in her contributions, play to her strengths, which then allows Jinx to be supportive and encouraging, but not in a pitiful-seeming way like Vi was. Jinx cares less about Isha than Vi did for Powder, so it doesn't feel like doting, when Jinx points a finger gun at Isha and is proud during the Smeech fight, it feels earned, and that's why Isha smiles there. She also plays to her strengths as a scout during the Vi vs. Jinx fight, whereas Powder was always seen as a liability because she either had to be a Vi 2.0, or was left behind. She was much more powerful when allowed to do things her own way as Jinx. Back to the Isha being a more ferocious and vicious sister than Powder was, when she fulfills her role as a protector in episode 3, the most apparent example, she almost pulls the trigger. She's able to will herself in a way Powder never was, because she understands it's something she just has to do. That look in her eyes as she's about to shoot Vi is something we never see from Powder until she becomes Jinx in episode 3. Even more impressive, looking straight at the person she's about to kill with apparent disgust, where even as a teenager, Jinx had trouble looking her victims in the eye. Isha is everything Powder felt like she needed to be. Strong, useful, indispensable, and determined.

Jinx is more heroic in this season, she wants to help people, to fix things, even calls herself a hero in the act 2 trailer. She's a symbol, and she protects children with no incentive, and is much more sane and seemingly happy. She's forced to be a hero in the wake of a city that she herself left in shambles by killing Silco, and she finds herself as someone to be looked up to. She sheds her feelings about needing to be like Vi and realizes she's already like her, but in her own way. Perhaps even better. This is symbolized by her destroying the boxing machine she had felt inferior to Vi because of in the first season, and using it to make something new, something stylized to herself, and playing to her strengths as a mechanic, and then using it to help someone she had hurt, to fix something that was broken. Not just her arm, the relationship. It makes me all the more curious to see how Sevika treated Jinx when she was first taken in as a child, maybe even tried to train her, but her rigid style didn't stick with Jinx' more chaotic nature. Either way, she has a newfound sense of clarity, the voices are gone, and as she heals herself, she also heals the things she's broken. Even symbolically healing herself by being there for Isha, a parallel Powder.

And we are happy for you, my dude! Seriously, out of dozens of channels dedicated to writing breakdown, you dig the deepest. And the relationship you had with this show, the growth of this project of yours, have been almost poetic. Keep up the good work, brother š

For me . This Jinx . Is far more Resolute and in peace with herself . Of being less erratic in terms of not being able to control her emotions and mental state . She confronted her demons . Accepted what she is . A Jinx . And for some reason , it feels liberating to see that for her. Even though her triumphant state , is an even further path to Violence . Regardless . It still feels like a Joyous thing . To me at least Because , we saw how much her guilt as Powder tormented her over the years . She was not in control . And that torment was always so loud for her . But ever since Silco's death . Even though she is still chaotic as ever. Everything around her feels so quiet. Because her shackles as Powder has been broken . The Voices that Powder listened through of torment. Jinx no longer hears . And I find that to be a "Victory" for her , for some reason . I am looking foward . Where she goes now . Without any noises of the Past constantly buzzing and dictating her every action and decision.

S2 Jinx is trying to end the show by herself s2 Jinx accepts that sheās the problem child. She wants to fix the damage she did and get out of everyoneās lives. Fixing Sevika is one of the things she does. It also explains e3. A big video game showdown in the bossās dungeon after a dangerous heroic journey into unfamiliar territory. Jinx thinks that her death to Vi will give Vi the closure she needs. Why jinx says āit has to be you.ā She has Sevika hold off Cait, traps the exit so Vi canāt run away. Jinx is trying to end the show on her own terms. Even though the story is trying to sell this as THE fight of the show (they hit the s1 opening pose, Vi and Cait have a kiss scene). This doesnāt feel like a proper climax to us because of all the other Noxian and Hextech developments, and it also fails because she has Isha to live for. Funnily enough Jinx is the same in S1 in that she messes up everything she tries at.

Main thing I noticed is we didn't see as much 'scratching'/allucinations from her (correct me if I'm wrong). No Milo whispering over her shoulder, no Silco either (except the 'laying to rest' in water scene) Not sure what it could mean tho

I have the opportunity to talk after Act 2 being released. But first I will say what I think after Act 1. She seems to just give up. Everyone she loved is dead or leaved her. This was beautifully shown in episode 3, where she organized her own suicide. I think she never wanted to kill Vi, if she wanted Vi would be dead. Jinx doesn't even seem bothered by a kid falling at her which will make her angry earlier in the series. Now she just lacks something. And this something is Silco. Sometimes she doesn't even remember that she killed him. She just thinks that she doesn't have anything, so why she need to bother about anything. I think that is the real Jinx, without anyone's influence. Just empty person without purpose in live with a lot of trauma and boredom towards life. I think it's the real issue with Powder/Jinx. Without someone who can set her priorities she's just like empty box. That's why she didn't resist when Silco was adopting her despite him being the reason of Vanders death. That's why she even ehen she seems to not have sympathy to Isha she doesn't kick her of. I think that this problem may be result of her past regrets. Because the fact she didn't listen to Vi caused Powder to kill her friends this is what makes her unable to make her own decisions or make her afraid of making ones, because she may repeat the same mistake of doing something wrong. But after Act 2. Yeah that situation is really good for her. She treats Isha like Vi was treating Powder. She sees in her little Powder abandonded by sister and she gives her everything she wanted to have when she was little. She cares about her so much that despite her aversion to continuing being Jinx she once again became this mad blue hair terrorist just to safe Isha. That's probably a moment when she decided she need to became what people was seeing in her. A symbol of Zaun rebellion against Piltover and heiress of Vander and Silco. Also meeting Warwick/Vander gave her hope that she can still have family to fight for. Here we see next time that she doesn't want to kill Vi as she can do it easily and choose no to. That shows that the presence of Isha, then meeting Vander change her. She's still Jinx, now she just have someone who can be the anchor of Powder in her whole Jinx persona. When she was fighting Rictus she was using her Shimer powers a lot more than when she was fighting Vi in Act 1. This may indicate that in fight with Vi she really didn't wanted to kill her, as she probably would do it easily when using Shimmer powers the same way she did fighting Rictus or she jist didn't knew how to use it that good earlier. But this fight with Rictus shows also how much she wants to have Vander and Vi back. She not only wants it, she needs it. When Isha sacrifice(?) herself and kills ehat remains from Vander ahe will have a massive breakdown. Her life started to look kinda good and now, in one moment she lost two people she cared the most. This will make her or go after Ambessa or go after Jayce in Act 3 which would be pretty interesting to sed

Hey Schnee found your channel when arcane season 1 came out and loved your in depth analysis, especially the way you blend introspective characterisation and the characters in their respective settings and through their relationships. So Iām just here to say that Iām glad you are continuing your work! I have seen some other YouTubers, but I donāt feel anyone really comes close to your thoughtfulness. Personally I felt the first act seemed a bit rushed at key times, but maybe I missed some things or wasnāt engaging actively enough. Will watch your video now, hopefully in will give me a bigger appreciation (as it very much did with the first season). Keep doing you, and all the best!

jinxās entire character arc last season revolved around her self acceptance. with the death of silco, along with his last words, she finally found that. however, i think now we are seeing her grapple with this new found agency sheās acquired with fully accepting even the ugliest parts of herself. powder was codependent with vi and with her transition to jinx she became codependent with silco. now she has no one to hide behind and i think thatās left her feeling empty and detached rather than confident and empowered. however, i think that is the most interesting and realistic state for her to be in moving forward into act II and makes me super excited to see what they do with her character.
