I live in your areaโฆ..I was on a walk one afternoon and a nice couple warned me that a huge snake was up ahead just lying there. I was like no way and turned around and headed back the long way home just to avoid that snake. I canโt even with them!

Strong, pungent, and unpleasant scents, like those fromย garlic, onions, marigolds, lemongrass, and lavender, can help repel snakes.ย Other options include vinegar, cinnamon, and eucalyptus oils, which snakes also find unappealing.

Anytime weโve had an outdoor cat we never saw snakes in our yards. Hubby killed a copperhead last week at our new house (further out in country) while taking dogs for walk.

Every time I think "I want to move where there isn't snow and especially ice" I walk outside in my Yard (5 wooded acres) and think "only the occasional rat snake"........ The south is just as bad because the storms have damaged many venomous snake facilities and they are loose and breeding.
