Would have been great if they could have come up with this BEFORE all those innocent people were killed.

I used to work at ORD and I saw airforce 1 plenty of times. I also saw military vehicles for air shows and ones that escort the president. The helicopters never got close to the runway. ITS A RUNWAY! When I saw this story I knew that someone messed up.

I was in DC last year and watched in HORROR at how close the helicopter traffic was to DCA’s landing path. I literally thought “WTF”! The fact that it took until AFTER a whole bunch of innocent people were killed, to do something, is just unbelievable. The FAA was absolutely negligent in never doing anything about this LONG ago. Textbook case of bureaucratic incompetence.

...who ever agreed to the flight lines should be brought to the public for chastisement...openly...

Why wasn't this issue already taken care of years ago? Didn't certain people say it has been a danger in the past?

ABC13 Houston
Chairman Jennifer Homendy said the NTSB recommends that the Federal Aviation Administration permanently ban helicopter operations near Reagan when runways 15 and 33 are in use. The investigation continues of the crash between an American Airlines plane and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter that killed all 67 people on board both aircraft.
