Kohima War Cemetery In Nagaland Kohima War Cemetery is one of the most visited tourist places in Kohima. It was built to commemorate the soldiers that died in World War 2.

Battle of kohima which took place from April 4 to June 22 1944 .
The British/Indian Garrison Numbered 2,5000 The Attacking Japanese Force Numbered Some 15,000 .
It Was A Dogged and Brave Defence By The Allies plus the re-supply by air that saved the garrison from complete destruction by the Japanese .
The Japanese however were having serious problems with their own logistics when the food and ammunition was running out the senior Japanese commander made the decision to start a retreat through Burma.
Many hundreds of Japanese soldiers were to die on their march out it became known as the road of bones.

Kohima War Cemetery is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the 2nd British Division of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima, The Capital Of The Indian State Of Nagaland in April 1944
