I've been doing some research into DCS 2.8 and issues people have been reporting with Flat Shadows.

With DCS 2.8 have you noticed an issue and had to switch from Flat to Default shadows... or Off.

Let me know, I'm working likely going to make a video about this.

Leave me some comments about what you've experienced.

More info to come.....

Ive noticed some times you will get a large shadow across half the map when there are just a few clouds in the sky. Currently in the ED discord there is a bug report made and BN seems to be tracking it and waiting for more track files.

@Enigma89

I either run shadows on high or off. Anything outside of that lags.

Fresh into 2.8 (always have shadows to Low or medium) my Terrain shadows went to Flat=>Default, Default=>Off, Off=>Off. This went back to normal for me some time ago. If you so a video please test all the combinations (Terrain and Cockpit shadows) and how they Look and perform. I hate half assed takes, but from what I've seen from you I trust you're gonna do a good Job :)

Left my terrain shadows on default had to turn my main shadows off, left secondary shadows on. Thanks for looking into this. For servers with large simulations present shadows break the game for me. 16gb of ram though.

Always off. My 3060 laptop can just about run DC's in VR, I think turning shadows on might melt it.

Default work and flat is horrible for my proformance, But I turned shadows off to help with spotting.

Flats are broken, off is stillFlats but hidden, also broken. Default is the "least" broken.
