Amiodarone - ACLS Drugs

Amiodarone is a Class III antiarrhythmic and potassium channel blocker used in ACLS to manage serious ventricular arrhythmias. ⚡🫀

In this video, we walk through when to use amiodarone, how to dose it, and what to watch for during resuscitation.

🔹 Key Indications
Used for:
✅ Ventricular fibrillation (VF) and pulseless VT in cardiac arrest
✅ Ventricular tachycardia (VT) with a pulse

🔹 ACLS Dosing
✅ VF/pulseless VT: 300 mg IV push (initial dose)
✅ VT with a pulse: 150 mg IV over 10 minutes (initial dose)

🔹 Important Side Effects
May cause bradycardia and hypotension, so continuous monitoring is essential during and after administration.
