The Darkroom Chicago is a community-centered film photography studio dedicated to access, authorship, and creative education for all. We teach hands-on film photography, offer open lab hours, support youth and adult learners, and create intimate spaces where people can slow down, experiment, and see themselves in the art they make. Our programming ranges from beginner workshops to exhibitions and a growing mobile darkroom designed to bring analog photography access across the country. At our core, we believe film should be approachable, affordable, and rooted in community — and we build everything we do around that commitment.
