COD World at War. So raw and real. It's more of a horror game then an fps, and it does the opposite of making you feel a hero. (except for the end with the soviet flag)

The original Delta Force Black Hawk Down (2003). Just a personal favorite of mine

Darkest Dungeon, for its atmosphere, story, and moments of blind-siding comedy

thats a hard one; in my brain dark souls 1 is the perfect game, one of the greatest level design ever made even today, amazing lore and amazing soundtrack, great gameplay and feel, AMAZING art direction and atmosphere. but in my heart it's megaman x1 for the super nintendo... but theres so many amazing shit that i've been trying; things like assassins creed 4, dishonored and etc

I'd have to go genre by genre to give my "real" answer, but I think Bioshock 1 is a pretty good candidate for an "overall greatest," if that makes sense. One of the first games I played that convinced me that games could be art, just as much as books or movies.

I think it's Witcher 3. I just felt empty after beating the game the first time. Almost couldn't bring myself to complete that last quest, knowing it meant the end.
