Zabel VGM

Good news everyone!

I'm finally done with that NES project! I'm not gonna lie, it was a massive undertaking and I severly underestimated the time it would take to listen to the entire NES music library. And when I'm working on a relaxing playlist, it's a bit easier - it doesn't take long to see if the track is a good fit. But to spot good tracks, you have listen to the music carefully, sometimes more than once. And then you end up with a shortlist of about 800 tracks so not even half of them make the cut! My takeaway on the whole thing is that classic sountracks are classic for a reason and there aren't many deep cuts with the same quality. Konami was at the top of its game during the NES days. If the game has that sweet konami logo, you can bet the soundtrack is going to be a banger! Also Natsume. Nintendo, on the other hand... Many of the classic first wave games have very very basic music and it's not very interesting to listen to, honestly. In any case, the videos are all done and I'm going to do a bunch a smaller projects before I dig in the SNES library. Also there has been a re quest for a relaxing 3DS playlist and I'm very happy to oblige!

In other news, I'm back on Mixcloud:

I know some of you complained about me not using it anymore, and the truth is that Mixcloud pro isn't free and money was very tight for me last year. I do agree that its UI is a tad better than Patreon when it comes to listening to music, so I've added all the lastest mixes there. If you do want leave a little tip of something (which is awfully kind of you because you absolutely don't have to), consider using Patreon instead though. Mixcloud's cut is more important and Stripe has that retarded policy that if someone leaves a something, I can't withdraw it until the total reaches a £50 minimum, which can take years.

Lastly, chapters seem to have disappeared forever from my vids and won't come back until I do an ID verification on Youtube, which will never happen. So yay, thanks Youtube! That and a whole bunch of features are now out of reach... But it will be a long time before I give YT a scan of my ID or my real phone number. Oh well.

Once again, thanks for you support, comments and feedback are always appreciated (seriously) and remember, I read all of your suggestions and I may be persuaded to take personal requests...

Great idea about 3DS playlist! And maybe DS too? Multipart, hopefully? :) Wow, you're really giving this all your heart and soul! Listening to the entire NES music library... Outstanding dedication. How do you do that? I mean, where do you get this music? Do you reap it from real hardware yourself? I know there are 2 Sega Genesis channels here on YT and the guys there reap music from their real hardware. But man, I can't imagine how you would first reap the entire NES catalog, and then had to listen to it all... Your process behind the scenes is very interesting! How the magic is made.

And I'm sorry YouTube has been bugging you. Sometimes (often) it seems, for all the good it does, providing us with the platform to connect, at the same time it does all it can to ruin all the good stuff. Sorry, really sorry about it. And I understand your preference of not sharing anything related to docs with Google or other corpo. Cyberpunk, here we are, yeah. Also, since I'm from Russia and cut off from the major payment options, it's not easy for me to pay internationally, but I will try to top up my Kazachstan card and support you with a tip on Patreon. Really appreciate all your work. You do one of a kind playlists, and you know VGM history so well and have impeccable taste. Thank you.
