I’d take this ‘bad news’ over real bad news any day 😂

I sincerely hope that he still tries that as a fully-grown dog.

My Grandma had a Shih zu named Baxter. Sweetest boy you would have ever met. He didn't really go outside much to play but any time I came to visit my Grandma's house as a kid, he would get super excited and stay beside me pretty much the entire time with this silly grin on his face. I wish I could see him one more time...

I was nervous waiting to get my ears checked in the doctors office. Scrolled across this, Baxter calmed my nerves.

Really hope they talked about wanting a dog beforehand. Decisions like this shouldn't be made on a whim, especially if you have a partner who may or may not be comfortable with a sudden new family member. .

The way a furry friend shows up and fills a home with love is honestly the best kind of blessing

I definitely wouldn’t be mad at Baxter but i definitely would’ve popped off on my spouse saying “now Baxter is innocent but why you gonna let him in the sink and then frame him when he makes a mess😂🤦

That mess is all yours. Payment for not consulting me first... Hand him over when he's clean. 😂

I hope dog ownership was something they discussed beforehand because that is an adorable pupper who gonna eat a lot of the budget 😅

Alright, I'm gonna be the one who isn't very fun at parties and point out that we absolutely should not be glorifying impulse pet purchases by making them look cute and quirky. A pet is a 10+ year investment and it is a major decision that you should not be making without consulting your partner. This is exactly the kind of thing that's why so many pets are surrendered to shelters later on because their owners can't take care of them anymore.

While I'm all for cute fluffy doggo. Don't seriously drop a responsibility like that on your partner. I'm hoping they at least discussed adopting a dog prior to this.

Pets should never be surprise gifts! They are a shared responsibility that needs to be discussed beforehand.

Baxter is already showing that sometimes the best family members are the ones with four paws and endless love
