They say times have changed...but have they?

I've been trying to sort through loads of stuff recently, and I came across this.

I've done many things in my life; run an award winning pub, done a bit of acting, worked in theatre, travel (travelled A LOT, including living for a while on the edge of the largest volcanic lake in the world), didn't do great at school but returned to get a 1st class honours degree after 10 years out of education, worked as a professional archaeologist and later as an art handler for one of the UK's richest families and owner's of one of our most impressive stately homes, amongst many other things.

But always and forever...I've been a massive geek.

Foolishly, I spent a lot of my adult life doing things I thought I should be doing, rather than what I actually wanted to be doing...which is running my own one-man geekery!

This is me in about 1993 in I think my first shared-house in South East London, and as I say, things haven't changed much - note the hair (you'll laugh, but not so long after this I sold it to a wig maker in Guatamala for about $2, and only grew it back about 5 years ago), triple-bill Star Wars poster, Marshall amp, Judge Dredd and other graphic novels and trippy Mr. Benn t-shirt (wish I still had that!).

Have I learnt anything over the years?

Probably best to stick to what you actually know about, and more than anything, what you enjoy. As they say, do something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life!

These things may seem hard, or even impossible at times, but trust your instincts, and follow your passions if you can 🙂

Thanks everyone, you all have a nice day!
