As Eric Idle once said to a question on what he thought of the whole church and state dilemma: "I'm all for a separation of church and planet!" He unvittingly spoke my mind at that point.

I have my own, personal religion. I don't bother to spread it to others because (1) this strange deity is entirely verbally silent; (2) I've tried and it always had bad results for the people I told about it, wherher they believed me or balked, and the deity-thing was clearly telling me not to talk about it so, lesson learned I guess. But I do enjoy the atheistic view of the universe, my deity isn't creationist any way, and the advances we enjoy in society more often than not benefit from ignoring deism and focusing on materialism. Kudos!

Religion has been destroying society for years, too bad there are so many gullible people in the world afraid to think for themselves & praying to plastic statues

Everything that gentleman listed was terrible and directly against biblical teaching. Do you think it is possible that he was taught one thing yet came away with a different understanding? That seems to happen quite a lot. Take the issue of homosexuals going to hell for example. The Bible teaches that EVERYONE is going to hell unless they believe in Jesus - straight people, white people, Jewish people, people who never even heard the gospel. Yet the Bible is clear that everyone will be saved if they repent and believe. And that everyone who seeks God finds him.

I’m so tired of this… god or not, I just want people to not shove each others beliefs down the others throats and shitters just because they believe another religion or don’t follow any. When will society go back to just silently following a religion without bother others? I just… don’t understand. We should all be able to be happy, regardless what you follow. To limit true happiness to those who follow you seems toxic, no? All I’m trying to say is… let’s just go back and act like Religion was just “Oh hey btw I believe in this.” Instead of being “YOU SHOULD REPENT, THE LORD IS GONNA SEND ALL WHO DONT TO HELL!!!”. Is it wrong of me to think that?
