In my 35+ years of playing and owning pretty much every guitar you could ever imagine at one time or another I found that any guitar that makes you wanna play and strive to be better is priceless. Just my 2 cents

In the 90s I paid $1100 for a Gibson Les Paul Studio in alpine white with gold hardware. It played better than the standards that were considerably more. I wish I'd never gotten rid of it.

I've been playing a $700 Ltd ec-256 for the past 7 years. Couldn't be happier. Throw some good strings on it every few months and it plays beautifully.

Depends on if it's a collectors, or limited edition. Good guitars can be expensive, especially a nice acoustic like a Martin, or Taylor.

Owned the same 200 dollar guitar since I was 18 and it still works just fine. Can't afford decent guitars these days without good income.

I was like “never over $1000” until I walked into the guitar shop one day… now it’s “never over $2000” 🤣 love my Schecter C8 Silver Mountain

Most I have spent is $4000. Don't think I would go higher than that though.. but maybe if I win the lottery

The guitars are definitely worth the money. The only reason I wouldn't pay the money it is not having the money. But they are functional works of art, and I love them, and if I could, I'd definitely do that.

Another thing is that if you’re at the store itself, it’s always good to test them out to see what best suits you. Also don’t be shy about sounding bad if you’re a beginner because most likely the ones who know how to play would just give you tips instead of judging you; if anyone was to judge you, it would probably just be your dad I guess.

My only guitar was 60 dollars and I'm very happy with it. Been playing for 3 years (guitars are very expensive in my country)

$1k is the sweet spot for me, anything above usually has features that i don’t need, or is extra vintage spec’d which im not into

I've paid $5600 for a custom Jackson Rhoads. 26" scale length, ebony fretboard, single Bare Knuckle Warpig in the bridge, no tone, just volume knob almost all the way at the bottom (AS IT SHOULD BE). 12-16" radius, killer reverse headstock with blood red logo, reverse blood red mother of pearl sharkfin inlays to match the headstock, mahogany body, 5-piece maple neck, Hipshot bridge, and the piece de resistance, black satin blood splatter finish. Took 2 1/2 years to make but I absolutely love it 🤘. EDIT: Heads up to all the guys wanting a custom shop guitar: IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE AND IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST A YEAR TO MAKE. I said it was $5600 dollars, but with shipping cost, set-up, and some other special instructions I gave the builders it rounded out to around an eye-watering $6450. Bottom line, if you want a custom guitar, make sure you have the money and the patience first
