I agree! I don’t post on capcut, but it’s extremely disrespectful to steal stuff! Even if they didn’t claim it as theirs, Thats is no way to excuse yourself. The editors have used loads of time to make the edit. People have no right to steal those masterpieces!

YESSS! 100% As a editer of 1-2 years (I forgot) who started in October-ish of 2023 and used CapCut the whole time and only using templates 1-10 times (before I learned what editing is about) but I got bored and saw I could do what I wanted if I made edits and I learned that ’templates AREN’T edits’ and went off of that. And if I did use a template on yt (which I did 1-2 in my roblox era) I was disclaim it in the title, desc, comments, the video itself. But does that mean the video was an edit because of the shakes, colors, audio, etc? NO OFC NOT an edit is something you work on and i definitely didn’t work on that video (which is still up)

I agree I have to admit that I used templates all the time for my old videos (not on this channel) but now I just feel bad and I stopped using templates because like using templates isnt your real work and it’s basicall stealing imo

Why do you post them as templates if you don’t want others to use them? I’m not trying to be rude, I am generally curious, I’ve tried to become a CapCut creator many times cuz I want people to use my work (it’s not available in my country tho) Obviously it’s horrible that they aren’t crediting you and making it clear that it’s a template but do you still dislike it if they do credit you?

I think temples are a hit or miss. I feel like sometimes it’s ok to use a temple if you don’t take credit for it and you have the creatives permission. And as long as if it isn’t an everyday thing and you say you edited it when you really didn’t. But when they say they made it, don’t get permission, and what not, no. So for me they are 50-50

Hypothetically (I don’t want to use templates bc I feel bad abt it) If I wanted to use a template, and I credit the creator, is that better? (I’m a credit person, I’ve had a video stolen, and it sucks)

As a community (specifically the PJO editing community) I feel like we really need to talk about people using templates on CapCut ,replacing the photos, and posting them as their own. As a fairly large PJO CapCut creator (🦉✨Annabeth✨💖 on CapCut :) I have experienced this way to many times. While I know CapCut is a template app, I feel like myself, and many other creators put their edits out for their audience to enjoy, and not for people to use. Lots of time goes into editing and for people just to replace a few a photos, post it, and get attention for smt they didn’t even make is very dishearting :(
I would love to know others opinions on this matter so if you could repost that would amazing! I feel like we are trying to improve our community (tysm to every creator working hard to make that happen) and this message should be spread :)
If anyone could repost this that would amazing! I would love for the bigger pjo creators (my tags lol) to see this!
