J.J. Plagiarisms

I noticed my channel is somewhat stagnating. Every small boost I get is followed up by people unsubscribing afterwards. Why do you think that is? I'm interested in knowing how I can maintain subscribers and hearing your feedback.

@BlackMaleSpirituality

I think having a more organized approach to content creation would help. You have started certain things that are supposed to be multiple parts but haven’t finished them. For instance, I personally would like to see you finish reacting to Cosmonaut’s prequel reviews.

I love it when you crush the Filoni CW garbage. The damage caused to Barriss still angers me to this day. And now I'm deep in the EU, though have paused for the novelisations and junior novelisations. And I love it 😀

One thing you definitely never heard: NEVER CHANGE THE OUTRO IT'S SO ICONIC AND VIBEY😍 Really makes a viewer feel as if I watched some indie-creator(I use this word not only for games

Well, disliking Disney's handling of the Star Wars franchise is one thing. But, when everyone and their grandmother have done it. It just gets repetitive. I'm not a fan of what Disney has done with the franchise, either. But, I would suggest more videos that are more...positive. Like, your videos are at their best when you go over a subject that is good and you explain why it deserves the audience's attention. The point is, try to shake it up, and you know, not kick a dead horse.

This is purely subjective but I'm kinda bored of the Analyzing Evil Lucasfilm Staff stuff. There's only so much that can be said about them that hasn't been public knowledge for the last decade. Maybe more film analysis covering stuff that's actually good?

So, I got a lot to say JJ I don't think there are a lot of unique vidoes that people go to watch you for. A lot of the video ideas and videos you made suffered from being made long ago by other creators. Usually people go to new and small channels because they have something unique to offer and maybe the author's presention on the subject. Let's start with the first one. The video I, and possibly many other people remember to for are some that I rarely or never seen before from someone else, I can name a tonn of examples and you can see that even in your views on them. Those include your Analysing Evil series, a large portion of the videos defending prequels/ debunking sequel defences(especially those in which you make arguments in your favor as well! Those are great!), also videos made specifically to back up or debunk some arguments(For example about prequels, biases, sequels, Anakin's journey and Luke's fall in TLJ. I find those specifically to be very entertaining and helpful to those who actually defend prequels and help them not to be torn apart by the shitty arguments their opponents present, like "oh you just like them because nostalgia". Yeah, as if they don't like OT for the same reason. You know what I'm saying? And finally, I think your best videos are "Top 10 challenges" series. Those are very entertaining and they are 99% free from filler like sometimes there unfortunately is. The thing about them is that they are the essences of your arguments of your opinions. And, after all, they ARE JUST challenges, so anyone who debunks all 10 of them can feel good about themselves (Unfortunately that never happened😌) And now, to the not so praised stuff. I find your reviews of the star wars movies themselves and debunks of some niche videos or YouTubers to be quite lacking in quality. 1. For the reviews(which I'm sure you know got only a few thousand views at best) there are 3 main issues: 1) They have already been done before, by MANY MANY of creators. While learning your opinion on every aspect of that movie was interesting, they(reviews) still kinda fell short for me 2) I don't really like the system you used to rank them. While I mostly agree with the ranking you ended up with, I think the system isn't quite fair. Giving the story the importance of just 1-10 points is not enough for me. That system implies that movies with awful scripts and damage to their own franchises can get away with being " a 6-7/10" if they have every technical and musical component right(and etc.). So sometimes, for the system to not strike itself on the back, it feels like you do something EVEN WORSE: Sometimes(not always. I could provide where exactly, but the comment is already WAY TOO LONG for me, while rewatching them specifically for that is not a good idea for me rn) sometimes it feels like the review attacks the not that much connected aspects or defends them depending on your personal opinion on the movie, and, especially, the mentioned before, story. It's not to say you always execute it badly, but I think that this tendency of yours has harmed some the reviews.This issue is painfully obvious in the TLJ review. It's more than fucking obvious when you aggressively gave almost EVERYTHING a zero. I don't think this movie is that bad in the ways you described it. Of course, I am no defender of that movie, it fucking sucks, but every time I watch it I can't help but feel that you hate it because you're biased. I know you're not, or not anymore, but this is why I always never prefered that review in case I wa ted to hear TLJ being destroyed and shitted on. In conclusion to this particular point, it often gives off a feeling that you are biased about what you're saying. Sure, you're passionate about stuff you talk about, I don't think there's a single video of yours that you made because you had to or because of views(if I had to pick, maybe analysing evil?...). But sometimes I think the passion can blindly lead you to missing some aspects of the movies. I do appreciate how you ranked The Rise of Skywalker higher than TLJ and tried to be more objective, albeit the movie's still shit. I hope I made this big point clear. The lack of objectivity and... substance. That's what my main issue with them is... 3) I feel like a lot of times in the reviews you just argued in the manner of "It's good/bad, don't dare question it". I rarely got any useful arguments about the topics you spoke about, be it the PT, OT or ST( the other ones I do find to be quite helpful. I couldn't understand and admit what the issue was with the Rogue one, until you answered me with 1) Forgettable cast and 2) Boring/bad visuals. It cleared up so much for me!👍. Back to the point: You don't really make very developed arguments to defend/attack the movies you reviewed. I found that especially disappointing in PT reviews and TFA one. I know those would use a lot more time being discussed, especially them, just look how much Mauler milked the issues of TFA! But instead you just went "The script is so bad! Anyway, next point...". I was very surprised and confused why you think so, it's only when I watched his reviews I noticed the fundamental sins of that damned movie. So, to conclude, it's the lack of making your own arguments and debunking other's. I feel like at very least those 4 videos deserved some more time and length, ESPECIALLY packed with the fact that I know FOR A FACT that you CAN make a long video on the topic — just look how long the TLJ one took! All in all, the TLJ review isn't bad, it's just kinda... mid. Alright, done with the movie reviews! Sorry for taking too long with them. Quickly on the topic of debunking other people's video's and YouTubers, the issue with just generally the idea of doing that is assuming that the viewer knows about the debunked video's existence or the argument's at all. For that same reason I think your debunk of CVH is really successful: his star wars takes are... well let's just say - infamous. I think expanding on cooking that motherfucker well done is a great idea. The negative examples I think include debunks and talks about Darth Melvin or Darth Momo or other niche creators. Their subscribers count is below 10k(I'm not sure but regardless, it wouldn't be a lot anyway), so I doubt they have a lot of influence on SW discourse. It just feels as if you attack smaller fish to not take any risks. Not to say you don't take risks at all, sure, for example, not liking Andor is damn of a hot take and I respect that you don't have biases on them even when it comes to something many people love. The same thing applies to the Jedi Survivor game reviews and, surprisingly, ESB review as well! Some bold takes here! The point that I'm trying to make is that you should strike that perfect balance of being new and niche(while also not doing the ideas people already made WHILE ALSO not being to niche so that people don't care/are not educated about the idea) and only THEN expanding to those simpler video ideas that people would actually want you to talk about. What I mean is that when you finally hit that golden river of views people will ask you to review the SW movies and share your takes themselves! I think it'd be great to remake them at some point, maybe even covering the movies in more detail, especially that they are now 4+ years old😅 The reason your Analysing evil videos worked so absurdly well is that it managed to strike that perfect balance of new and known. The Vile Eye's series of Analysing Evil is very well known, albeit isn't quite niche. But your idea to subvert the genre entirely so that you review not the already beloved characters, but the ACTUAL IRL PEOPLE that dealt SERIOUS damage to their franchise??? It's BEYOND genius AND hilarious🤣!!! People love listening those terrible people being called out while also getting actual and sealed in stone reasons to hate them. I hope that seems intuitive to you! Now, to the 2-3 smaller things I think you still have to hear I promise to be shorter😅, I'm happy if you made it this far :3 Let's talk about your profile. "JJ plagiarism"? I always found the fact that you made your mascot around one of the people you hate really odd. Plus, online, that name doesn't hold much of a respect. So what I'm saying is.. maybe change your mascot? or name? Funk pops sure go hard for video previews, but not really for the guy that is negative a lot of times. I really like the new redesign with that new style, really makes watching you feel more wise and confident, even if you don't think so. And finally, as many people said and as that one poll pointed, you need to tone the negativity down a bit. People already said that pissing on Disney shit is kicking a dead horse at this point, and, to add more variety, being positive for once is a great idea. Here's some fun video ideas: how about some rankings? How about making a video specifically to analyze some character, maybe even some Underrated and Overrated, EU included! In fact, EU is a big niche that deserves to be talked about. If anyone should start popularize this niche, it 100% should be the Star Wars everyman like you are! Overall, I found your videos to be quite inspirational, while also answering a lot of my questions! Please don't quit, sometimes being a YouTuber is just taking the fact you grow slowly as it is. Who knows, if you make it all right, if you hit that golden river, maybe things will finally start to come around to be at your side! As the last thing I wanted to say, I appreciate that you did in fact add the option "Maybe a little bit" in that poll. Shows you're aware of what people say and consider it yourself! I'm happy to know that! Man, this comment took A LOT of time... I wanted to cover everything in excessive detail, so that I can help as much as I c

You're over-exerting yourself and dragging yourself down too much and going on like a broken record about it. What happened in May this year is in the past. Don't let it affect you or or your current state still or keep having it get you down. Your future is better when it's always kept on the horizon. So try to focus more on any major highlights you have with your audience. Your critique on DC's new Superman movie by Gunn was very well done. So I think you might be able to capture a new audience by focusing on that category or by branching yourself out more often. The DC Universe has a plethora of Cosmic and niche era of stories in the same vein as SW Legends that I think could help you cash in, figuratively speaking, on that market as they fall under the radar more consecutively than not. I won't force you to do it for money of course not lol but you get the idea. Stuff like Giffen and DeMatteis' run on JLI or Howard Chaykin's Twilight just to name a few examples. Or Simon Dark by Stephen Hiles. Hell, I think you'll like the Arkham Asylum graphic novel by Grant Morrison. You got the knack for enjoying cohesive storytelling and I think that one fits the bill. I've been thinking of getting into Irredeemable by Mark Waid. Which is the better version of Invincible and The Boys if Superman was evil done right. You can get through this. Life will get better when you least expect it.

By the Force. The last EU review was released on February 2024. And yes, just because of Jedi Prince review I subscribed to the channel.

I'm gonna be blunt: It's the drama, no one likes seeing drama go on this long. I know it's hard to ignore the Andor trolls but at some point you just gotta. There's no way you're gonna placate them or make them stop. And Melvin is.... well, he's Melvin. Best to put all this behind you. Also the mentions of US political stuff and getting involved in culture war BS can be off-putting to some, and making the videos about the SW staff have gotten somewhat stale/repetitive. You also have a lot of projects you promised but were never made, you've been keeping a lot of people waiting for a long time. You really should get back to those. Also, you should put in some positive videos here and there (I found your channel via your analysis on Dark Empire, I would like to see more of you praising good or underrated SW content like that).

I'll answer, as someone who hasn't quite unsubscribed yet but has thought about it multiple times. Your attitude on things you dislike (i.e. recent Star Wars, Superman) doesn't come off as opinion from a man who is disappointed. It comes across as though you think your words are objective fact and there's a slight air of "holier than thou" that comes through

Sounds like YouTube, The Quartering and Jon Del Arroz has covered this topic, sounds like youtube doesn’t want to pay creators and wants to shift to a i.

I’m guessing it’s because of the music, one hour loop and Machinima videos.

@bushfavedog

What does your YouTube analytics say about your videos? You gotta hit those 10 out of 10s. Star Wars itself is kind of stagnant at the moment. I think it would be better to lean on more positive Star Wars content. Maybe a series of videos on where to start with the EU, perhaps.

I've considered unsubscribing over the personal drama posts. I have no interest in parasocial relationships. I watch your content because I enjoy. That's as far as I want to know you, no offense.
