It's all content, when I was a plant optimisation engineer the operators thought it was perverse when I told them the process was more interesting when it wasn't working π. Looking forward to seeing you problem solving

If you can fix a prototype tree cutting robot, I'm confident you got this.

We considered 20 years about the life of a CNC machine in the last shop I worked in. But you have the right man on the job.

I was a machinist for 15 years, then they replaced our machinery with CNC equipment and installed ABB 6400 robots to load them. We went from 18 employees in my department to 8, and I became a machine operator. I went into a maintenance position, and learned to program ABB's....we had far less downtime with our old equipment, and components were difficult to find after 10 years of age on the CNC machines. Good luck!

The first problem is itβs a hurco. I programmed an MD3 for years at IBM. Hurco drops all service after a few years of ownership. They refer everyone to Midwest CNC. My z axis scale light bulb mirrored over and z would not repeat. Midwest CNC came and changed the bulb for $5k. The best part of the machines is after so many m30 cycles it will make star patterns on its own randomly in your part.

Not many things are more nasty then cleaning out the inside of a old CNC mill. The mixture off oil, coolant and small sharp chips makes it superfun.
