Unlimited Gratitude Hack: The Last Time

Realize there will be a last time for everything that you do.

Whenever you were young, there was a last time you went down a slide.

A last time to talked to a person.

A last time you'll eat at a restaurant

A last time you go on a family vacation

A last time to listen to a song

This is the last time you'll live this day.

The last time you'll be your age.

The last time you'll ever live.

Everyday is the last time you will do something. Then never have that moment again for all time.

Something about knowing it's the last time can make the moments we exist in that much more sweet and brings focus to that moment.

I made a video about this a while ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_7xm...

I've noticed ive done that quite a bit growing up already. But now rounding near 30 and my first child weeks away, I've caught myself realizing that every other week it feels like. Honestly, most of the time it makes me happy because it give me optimism about what's ahead. Especially in my current case. But the slide example in specific. I remember loving this park with my cousins. One weekend they told me they were moving to Montana - and that was a specific time it came up was me realizing (probably around 10ish yrs old) I'll probably never play at that park with my cousins again. It's a great practice to try and remember 😊

Personally, I used to always try to be grateful because I would never know how long I had left in this world. and while this can help, I found that noticing how the same thing applies to everyone you appreciate makes you even more grateful. You never know if this moment you're spending with a friend could be their last moment on earth. You never know of this coffee you're having with your mother could be her last. A life without the people we love seems harder than no life at all. Better make the most out of it. And while this fact may be anxiety inducing to some, there is also a certain beauty to it. After all, everything will die, and that, is the only reason it ever mattered.
