if a vehicle runs a red light, all cars are banned at this intersection forever.

I jog at Hefner Park in OKC, and there's a brat teenager who has an Inmotion RS, and he goes near top speed on it right beside the runners on the jogging lane. He's done it to me a few times, and we're talking inches of slamming into people going 50+ mph. Only a matter of time before he causes a serious accident and ruins it for everyone. It's always the idiots in the groups that ruin everything for everyone else. I like to test my new toys there, like my kaabo MKGT when I first got it a while back, but nothing stupid like that idiot.

Throttes make anything a motorcycle or moped essentially. I have a Wired Freedom that I ride the roads but I live out in the country. I still pedal it and only use the throttle to get going since the cadence sensor takes forever to kick in. I would ride a C1 or C3 without a throttle if I lived in the city for sure.

Every person that I know who was “screwing around” things are definitely gonna change for them

Switch to a loud motorcycle then just to fuck with them. Ban that too? Switch a car with loud mufflers.

"Electric motorcycles", which is what a 40 mph electric bike with a throttle is already classified as, have the same licensure, insurance, and registration requirements - and legal riding locations - as a Harley. Laws already exist to restrict them, and would work fine if they were enforced. I have no problems with an old or out-of-shape person with a Specialized pedal assist MTB that tapers off and cuts out as you near 18 mph sharing the trails with me on my unassisted bike - we'll probably go about the same speeds and can easily coexist. There's no need for new laws, we just need a police and judicial system that will respond to AliExpress motorcycles with something other than "it's got pedals, I don't need to investigate further".

I wonder if this is for non throttle peddle assisted bikes? It’s the kids and other irresponsible riders throttling their way down the areas they shouldn’t be at. Just my opinion.

Just cut the sign off at night. Karens who would call the cops would still exist, but at least normies casually around won't be tempted with the new legal knowledge to snitch upon seeing the sign. These bikes are never legal anyways, they exist more to be cheap or look legal.

There was one dude in my group ride group that got Onewheels banned from the biggest park in town. Blazing through at 20 mph bumping into cars etc.

I must have had their father driving behind me in his truck, turning brights on and getting close and honking horn because I wasn't going the speed limit. The speed limit is top speed, not the speed you are mandatory to go. Lower speed is generally 45. Generations never took drivers training and now their babies ruin biking for all.

Does Colorado classify e-bikes as motorized vehicles or bicycles? I swear every trail I ride on has deep burn out marks on them from kids burning their tires in the middle of the trails. And many e-bike riders are going in excess of 25 mph on paths that are clearly marked with a speed limit of 15 mph. New laws are definitely coming.

Easily solved in 2 steps: 1. Build a 100 ft wall around Texas. 2. Fill it with cement.

Reality… small trail… walkers… runners… bicycles… e-bikes.. easy to see which one doesn’t make sense. Wasn’t an issue with non e-bikes… cause let’s face it many e-bikers don’t do it for exercise. Be mad, “accept challenges”… go show those pedestrians who’s boss!! You gotta fight for right… to eeeeebike!! Look I get where everyone is coming from… and besides the fact that many e-bike riders are hurting themselves on e-bikes hitting a pedestrian is bad news… especially elderly or moms with strollers. That’s why the signs are up… not because they’re jealous or are fun Nazis it’s because irresponsible riders are hitting people and/or riding recklessly. I’ve seen it every time I ride.. a group of kids or even adults tearing down trails at high speed. I have a granny 500w Aventon and I often get MFd from pedestrians I’m never😢burning up the trails… of course I get shit from non powered bicycle riders too.

Freshly Charged
From fun to forbidden. All it took was a few irresponsible riders messing around. How long until your favorite spot gets the same signs?
