As a Catholic, thank you RZ for your words! Amen! May Pope Francis find rest, peace, mercy and forgiveness with the one true father, God, and our lord, Jesus Christ

Though I have my disagreements with him, his compassion for people was quite admirable. That compassion and his simplicity are things that we as Protestants should honor. Rest well brother and find that fishing hole in Heaven that my dad and Jesus hang out

As an orthodox I do not see eye to eye with Catholics when it comes to the Pope, though in this day I will not allow myself to speak ill. May God rest father Francis’s soul. May he find peace with our Lord and may God help the cardinals elect a new worthy pontiff, who will above all else protect Christian people and values. To all my catholic brethren, may God help you now and may he hear your prayers. May he give you peace and a worthy successor who will keep the faith. I will not wish or pray for our unification, for those divides I am not prepared, not learned, not studied to deliberate such things. If it is meant to be, it will be. May the Lord’s will be done on that and on all matters! Take heart brothers and sisters by Christ, above all else we are Christian. The enemy is ever present and takes many forms. Again, God help you. Love, an Orthodox bro.

Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares Lord Yahweh, “is it not that he should turn from his ways and live? — Ezekiel 18:23 For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares Lord Yahweh. “Therefore, turn back and live.” — Ezekiel 18:32

Thank you for posting this, you have inspired me to be more ecumenical and focus more on what brings us together as Christians than what separates us, which is very hard for an evangelical Southern Baptist to do. Rest in peace Pope Francis

From a Lutheran, prayers for the Roman Catholic Church during this time. May the Pontiff be in the presence of our Lord now, where there is no pain, no suffering and no more death.

Thank you. His absence is felt even in my lay Catholic life. The grief I feel is so strange because this isn’t like a celebrity’s death but feels more like that of distant relative who you may not have known all that well but knew loved you very much

Rest in Peace Pope Francis. Even before I was a Christian, I always greatly respected Pope Francis's humility and care for others. In recent years I've grown to greatly appreciate his ecumenical outreach towards us Protestants. I thank the Lord for his life and my prayers are with the Catholic community as they mourn him and take the steps for selecting his successor.
