The very first Jurassic Park movie I saw with zero expectations. I don't recall if I'd even seen a preview for it on TV. Today, it remains my favorite movie.

KOTOR. It was my first RPG, and I had no idea what I was getting into. My kid brain expected cool lightsabers and Jedi vs Sith, but was woefully unprepared for companions and a story that would stick with me for the rest of my life.

Katamari Damacy! My aunt randomly got it for me because a person working at GameStop told her it was good. I could have never guessed the amazing experience I was in for ha ha ha.

The Matrix. I had no idea it was a simulation movie, saw it on a rental from Blockbuster in 2000. When the reveal happened I had no idea.

Subnautica. I expected a crafting/survival sim. The horror elements hit me rather unexpected when exploring the depths of the ocean. Evading/combating these horrors made the experiance very fun.

Going into things blind is not something I value highly tho an exception to this is Outer Wilds, i don't think i would have liked that game as much if i did not go into it blind. and in contrast La-Mulana is a game i dont think i would have liked if i went into it blind

I miss your old Star Trek reviews and of other shows and movies. Can understand if Trek recently isn't your thing but sci fi doesn't end there. Look at UK series and see how that relates to Babylon 5. Day of the Triffids, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy TV series, Space Above and Beyond. Many other shows. Don't be afraid to speak your mind on the USA in 2025...

That's most games for me, frankly. If there's a game I really want to play, I avoid trailers, marketing, discussions, everything, as best I can. In fact, for FFXVI, all I saw was the first trailer, though "well, that looks like alpha footage from FFXII", and then proceeded to avoid it until release.

Trails in the Sky 3's turn on the docket. I'm actually walking into this one pretty blind so I don't really know what to expect.
I'd ask a poll about that but... I already have! So rather than repeat myself I'll ask something adjacent; What are some games/shows/movies you walked into completely blind and enjoyed the experience more specifically because you walked in blind?
