Nothing dramatic is changing, but I am trying to make the channel more... algorithmically pleasing. To that end, the long essays on video games (Clair Obscur, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, etc...) will be moving over to a separate channel.
I really, really enjoy making these videos, but they don't fit the rest of my content super well and thus have a different audience, which isn't good for the channel as a whole.
What I WILL be keeping on this channel is the videos talking about a single character. So even though the vid on Arthur Morgan is 2.5 hours, future videos of such nature will be staying the same. A video on V from Cyberpunk 2077, for example, will be on the Master Samwise channel, while a video on the story as a whole, its philosophy, or whatever else, will be on the new channel.
This is a move I've thought about making for months, and probably should have made earlier, but couldn't quite convince myself to start from scratch again, but I think it's time. I have a lot of games I want to play and talk about, but also have many other video ideas regarding Tolkien, Avatar, Frieren, Star Wars, and writing and storytelling in general. And the two just don't match up, causing a fragmented audience, which is never good on YouTube.
So, I will not be making any fewer videos (well, not for this reason, anyway), but this channel in particular might be getting fewer uploads as I shift strategies.
TL;DR: Go subscribe to youtube.com/@master-sam-gaming if you want to catch more long videos about video games. I'll be moving the Clair Obscur epic over there today.
