It will not die because of competitors, nor because of a lack of talent. And for sure, it does not die because of AI.
It dies much earlier: at the approval stage, due to not enough clarity, not enough data, not enough conviction, not enough courage.
Now, with AI in the picture, a new problem has emerged,
It means that some leaders want exponential outcomes with linear mindsets.
They think AI's going to create magic… while they're still making decisions the old way.
The truth of the matter is, AI won't kill your innovation but something else will surely kill it.
Fear of doing wrong experiments, Fear of small failures, Fear of challenging assumptions, Fear of being wrong in public.
AI expands possibilities. But only for teams who have the courage to try messy, imperfect, fast experiments.
The real killer of innovation is NOT AI.
It is someone who: need "more data" but don't allow experiments, want certainty before action; rejects ideas that don't fit into old frameworks; postpones making decisions until the window closes; thinks AI will make up for lack of boldness.
AI is a force multiplier.
It multiplies your speed, your creativity, your decision-making, your ability to test ideas in hours, not months.
But if the thought process remains the same, you scale up your hesitation-not your innovation.
So my formula is
Innovation = AI tools × human courage.
If courage equals 0, it is always going to output 0.
It is not the companies with the best AI that will own the future.
It will be owned by companies with the bravest teams using AI.
