I love the T-55 and T-62 most. They seem so iconic, expecially in a war like this, plus, most of my (private) art that I make of 50s to 80s tanks are in the Middle East or in Ukraine. The BMP 1 and 2 are my favorite IFVs ever made, not because they are the best, but because the look cool. If we were to go by best IFV, I would say the Bradley. Favorite guns are the DshK, the PKM, the AK-74 and the SVDS. Favorite technical is this setup: Light Toyota with no armor. Either a DshK or the 23mm AA gun. Or: Flatbed truck with some extra armor plates with a T-55 turret on the back on what looks like a wide PVC pipe.

T-55 series are my favourite, especially the ones that had plates added onto the front of the turret

T-55, Comrade ☭ Edit: Because even if I don't really support their ideologies I like the soviet union, especially their epic tanks and anthemn. This tank is too iconic and it did very great during the war

You can love the armoured vehicles all you want, but give props to the crewmen especially those driving in the KAMAZ trucks. The BMPs and BTRs are a magnet for bullets but for the crews inside it's safe enough, as long as there's no RPGs. Not the KAMAZ trucks, they had enough balls to drive in ambush road unprotected.

According to Wikipedia also some t-64 tanks were also deployed, but due to engine failure they were sent back to ussr.

The Soviet-Afghan conflict saw a wide array of support vehicles. On the Soviet side, everything from BRDM-2 armored cars, the BTR series, BMPs and to the famous T-55 & T-62 were deployed to the fight. The other side however was not in a favorable position to utilize much of a mechanized/motorized combat or even supply force, as such, the Mujahedeen fighters have largely relayed on whatever could be scavenged from neutralized Soviet convoys, civilian truck purchases from Pakistan and very limited donations from the USA. However, their primary fighting force would always remain infantry. What is your favorite vehicle used during the Soviet-Afghan War and why?
