Monterey Bay Aquarium

Last Saturday, Aquarium Executive Director Julie Packard brought ocean conservation to life at the Indianapolis Zoo’s Meet a Hero event!

But what made this moment truly special? Julie joined more than a dozen wildlife conservation leaders at this Indianapolis Prize event, where she met face-to-face with the next generation of ocean stewards.

🐟💙 Zoo guests of all ages stopped by her table to ask questions, snap photos, and learn how everyday actions can help protect our ocean. She handed out Seafood Watch guides and keychains, and signed informational “Hero Cards” for young conservationists—sparking real conversations about how each of us can make a difference for our planet.

In a world where global challenges can feel overwhelming, seeing a conservation leader like Julie take the time to connect, listen, and encourage was a powerful reminder that change begins with each of us.

👏 We’re proud to celebrate Julie’s recognition among the world’s leading wildlife conservationists, and even more excited to keep the momentum going for a healthy ocean and a healthy planet.

I applaud the parents who brought their children! We can't let this end with us; we need to raise the next generation to continue the mission. Thank you, Julie and MBA!
