I saw the distinguished gentleman, Ray Charles, perform at a fancy dinner/theatre in Tulsa, OK in the 80s. A wonderful memory. He was SO talented. I also loved the 2004 movie “Ray” with Jamie Foxx portraying him. Just watched it last summer for the 1st time. Check it out.

My mom’s band got to open for him at the penn state jazz festival one year. My mom will always remember it- she is a blues singer. She wore a gold sequin outfit and she said it lit up the crowd like a golden disco ball lmao. Absolutely loved ray Charles. I throw a couple of his covers into my sets. Absolutely love his Christmas album. Best cover of little drummer boy and lift every voice and sing!

Saw him at Exhibition Place, Toronto, with Jerome Godboo's brother. Ray rocked that organ, the singers were beautiful, what an evening! (Afternoon? It was daylight out.)

My introduction to Ray was when he appeared in the Blues Brothers. When he shoots the wall next to the guitar haha.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ray Charles live in St. Louis at an outdoor concert venue. He was phenomenal. It must have been toward the end of his life as the show was only about 45 minutes or so. Regardless... it was pleasure to see him perform. 🎹🎤🕶

Ray was an incredible live performer. I saw him twice in a 1000 seat theater. The second time he was very sick. Great memories.

I actually saw Ray Charles on a flight one time. He was in 1st class and Jacqueline Bisset was across from him. I waved but he just ignored me. Lol. I did see him, though.

My favorite albums of Ray's are "The Modern Sounds of Country and Western Music Volumes 1 and 2. My favorite duet is Ray and Willie Nelson singing "Seven Spanish Angels". A wonderful talent with such a diverse range!
