As a fantasy noir fan, I really enjoyed the first few books when I was a teen. Gotta love a good supernatural mystery. I have a friend who's the opposite and only reads the later half of the series because she prefers the harem shenanigans. I was OK with Jean-Claude but agree with a previous poster that he needed another name. I kept thinking of Jean-Claude Van Damme whenever I read his name, and it took me out every time. š

The first books have a huge gay hate problem, but I loved the criminal side, the lore side and the humor was great. Laurell lost her way for many books but Skin Trade felt like her first books.

The Articulate Coven Anne Rice's Immortal Universe
After Iād finished my re-read of The Vampire Lestat, I felt a sudden urge to revisit another series I fell in love with around the same time. Have you read the Anita Blake series? What do you think of the St. Louis Animator/Vampire Executioner?
Especially what do we think of the Lestat inspired, Jean Claude?
