I know everyone thinks ‪@TomScottGo‬ is smart. But he has no idea how to pronounce UC Berkeley. You can hear for yourself in the latest episode of Tom's podcast Lateral (in which I appear!). Link in the comments.

Hey so this is completely unrelated but if you could, could you have a look over the recent leak of wizards of the coasts new OGL, it’s causing quite the stir in the community and may lead to a massive legal battle between different ttrpg corporations.

Love when one my favorite creators go on podcasts AND inform us they have done so! Episode downloaded and ready...

@flawlix

I’m gonna second the request for a vid about WOTC’s new OGL. It’s a big change that will affect a lot of the DnD community, plus a good opportunity to discuss IP licensing with a digestible example.

Appearing with Tom Scott is the modern equivalent of appearing on late night. You've made it on YouTube. Tom Scott is the unofficial success ambassador. I said so.

Hey legal eagle, I know this is not something that you are very interested in as I’m assuming that you do not play table top RPG’s, but I think it would be interesting for you to cover Hazbro’s/Wizard of the Coast’s leaked update for the OGL which seems to have the intentions to eliminate any third party content for Dungeons and Dragons

@awkward0wl10

From one aviary to another, I would like to request a video analyzing the new D&D OGL.

So new plot development regarding the Hasbro thing- Knights of the Old Republic uses d20 srd and ogl 1.0. If this actually ends up being legally binding, this gives Hasbro a claim to Star Wars. Disney v Hasbro FIGHT!!

@EHLOVader

Might have to dip in to check out this episode but am sad they don't do the full video posting online and stopped after the first one.

Hi prof. Just wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude for your work in educating us public. Your recent stuff about My Cousin Vinny made me realize you need to know about Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which is a heartwarming show about an attorney dealing with neurodivegence and their career. It seems to attempt to be procedurally accurate and I would be overjoyed to hear any thoughts you might have, as the show is becoming popular in my family circle. ♡ keep up the great work.

I'd love a video on the legality of Hasbro's 1.1 open gaming licence change. The DnD community is blowing up a bit right now.

To be fair no one in America can pronounce Shire on the end of British counties, until it's "Hampshire" preceded by "New" and then they can do it impeccably!

@veryblocky

How do you think we feel, Americans can never pronounce UK place names either

2 years ago | 17

@lukerichardson8097

Berkeley was an English place first so we can pronounce it however we like

@kellyactormosgoog

No idea where to post this, but there's a huge deal going on with wizards of the coast and the open gaming license involving dungeons and dragons. Since we know how much you love sexy sexy contract law, it would be great to see your take on how this can affect content creators for dungeons and dragons.

I'm sure someone's already asked, but could you please look into, and do a video on, the recent WotC leak about the new OGL?

@lefterismplanas4977
