I was THIS CLOSE to making a whole edit commemorating the finale of The Owl House tonight, but that's just too much work for me at the moment. Plus, if I were to make a celebratory edit for every show I loved as it ended, I would've hated myself, so I'm happy with a community post.
I cannot describe with a few dozens words how grateful I am that this show came into my life. Not only did it mark a big change for my channel — being the spark that helped me become a cartoon-focused editor instead of just Sonic — but it impacted me in ways that I can't easily describe. It's helped me reevaluate my friends, family, and over loved ones; helped me better understand my personal values; and came into my life in a time when I really needed something to let me know that it's okay to be my weird self. In the last two years, The Owl House has helped me cope with loss in my family, be more honest with my close friends — plus open my eyes to the world of animation and seek them out with the artistic eye I got these days. Alongside Hilda, it's the catalyst that rejuvenated my love for editing and led me to amazing communities I'd have never found otherwise.
I'm forever thankful that this show happened, and I'm sure as hell not done with it just because it's about to be over. I have many ideas with it building in me every day, and I'm gonna let them be seen for as long as I'm editing.
