I'm using Gimp since 2005, which means I started with version 2.2. I had to become 59 years old for Gimp to reach version 3.0. If this is the development speed for future updates, I'm blind, deaf and senile when Gimp 4 is released. But hey, I will have so much time to learn everything about this version... undisturbed for most of the time.

Nope. No hardware acceleration, no interface improvements, no AI tools, ancient text layers management. There is literally nothing Gimp does better than competitors, and it doesn't even try.
