Decoding Geopolitics Podcast with Dominik Presl

America is burning through its soft power at an alarming rate and it's now been overtaken by China in popularity for the first time ever. How did we end up here and what will be the consequences?

I wrote about it on my Substack: stationzero.substack.com/p/america-is-burning-down…

You should reference where this graph comes from in the post. I don’t think the global perception of china and Russia are increasing at that level

Gonna need a source for the graph showing Russia gaining 25 points in international popularity since 2022. Because unless you're polling Putin's cabinet, that's a joke.

If the rest of the world is forced to choose between American and Chinese autocracy, we will probably choose the less unstable one. How can America be surprised by that?

Putin and Xi couldn't have found a better agent of sabotage if they tried.

Lots of cognitive warfare by the Eastern axis of authoritarians coupled with not only a lack of education, but the coupling of complete illiteracy + idiocy of the Western populace at large regarding politics, geopolitics, diplomacy, and all forms of domestic and foreign intelligence. Even your audience is almost completely inept. It's a sad state of affairs. The West needs to pump out propaganda to counterbalance that authoritarian axis.

This graph simply does not pass the common sense test. Who was polled? Who on the civilized side of God’s green earth has an increasingly favorable view or either China or Russia (not saying the favorable US perception is not dropping, but the lack of credibility for the the Russia/China part of the graph makes me wonder how the US line truly tracks and with whom). Edit: from the sub stack: “According to the 2025 Democracy Perception Index (a massive survey of over 110,000 people in 100 countries) we’re now seeing a pretty fundamental reversal in how the world sees the two superpowers.” So, let us ASSUME the poll accurately reflects attitudes. Again, I am not saying I don’t see why attitude towards the US are falling, but ask yourself why attitudes towards two highly dictatorial and repressive regimes are rising.
