CAPTAIN DRONE

So I bought the Mini 5 Pro. It is an upgraded Mini 4 Pro in many ways. I do LOVE IT but I actually broke it (hit a tree in tracking mode). It should not have broken, but apparently it is not built as durable due to weight savings (there is a flaw in the gimbal). So off to DJI Care Refresh it goes. YES... I captured everything on video, so stay tuned for my upcoming REVIEW.

Hi Steve, ooohhh.....that's very unfortunate, but I thought DJI should at least keep a quality of standard when building their drones surely the quality of the Mini 5 pro should be on par or better than the Mini 4 Pro, I brought my Mini 4 Pro just last year, I am happy with it and not foreseeing a replacement for it just quite yet. I may replace my older Mavic 2 Zoom later though. To date I am happy to report I have not crashed any of my DJI drones yet and I wish to keep it that way, but then tbh I never turn off the onboard safety systems anyway and I make sure before I fly it has the latest safety updates installed, I tend to treat it like an Aircraft, in a way, with the whole safety first approach, I am not a Pilot, I just have a love for Aircraft and Aviation.

@afafiff

was just about to get one, now I'm having second thoughts. obviously a crash will happen one way or another, so durability is always important.

@Quad_Father

I thought with all that tech in there they were supposed to be ‘crash proof’ Plus it’s not sub 250 effin DJI

Stuff happens...😢 that's what refresh is for. Thanks for the heads up on the durability test. I hope it was just a freakishly hard landing and not a quality issue with strength

Sooooo looking forward to the review and subsequent followups. Apparently the lidar failed to do its job. Have a mini 2 and 3, trying to make myself believe I NEED this one. All the specs look great really love to see what you have to say about it. CHEERS Steve h

@winngh

I've seen people with pro drones crash in spectacular ways that should not happen with sensors active. At this point, the sensors are just as gimmicky as they come. it only works when u don't need it. One should relay on carefulness and self-360 awareness, just as u would if u dont use anti-virus on pc.

It seems DJI really struggled to get it down to 250g, with many reports of ones weighing in at 252g or more, which would explain any flimsiness 😥

@mukundtechtips

one more issue is that they all weigh over 250g needing registration and because of this i think dji will keep producing the mini 4 pro

@bobbylefebvre6298

Sorry it's broke captain

@Darrylx444

Did you weigh yours? Just curious, because all other reviewers have found theirs to be well over 250g. Like 253-255g...

@elusivelectron

Are you in Canada? I thought you couldn't get Care Refresh in the States.

@Vir1701

Do you actually use a mini drone ? When do you use it ? You have much better drone than this when you go filming right 👍
