Ride with Gabi

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED! šŸ˜’

Unfortunately, YouTube has decided to restrict, demonetize, and limit the sharing of my video about Scam Cities.

Many people have already told me that they’re unable to share the video.

The video was starting to gain traction and get recommended by the algorithm, but now, the views have dropped significantly, and it’s unlikely to grow any further.

Here’s the reason provided by YouTube:

***

ā€œYour content was age-restricted and demonetized due to our violent or graphic content policy.

Violent or graphic content may be age-restricted if it’s deemed inappropriate for all audiences. We may make limited exceptions for EDUCATIONAL, DOCUMENTARY, scientific, or artistic content.ā€

***

I completely agree that because of the graphic content, the video becomes 18+ and not be shown to a young audience.

But…

why then you completely stop the reach to ALL audience?

YouTube is a business, and their priority is to make money.

If a video isn’t suitable for their advertisers, the algorithm won’t push it. It’s as simple as that.

I did APPEAL this decision because I firmly believe the video can be considered ā€œeducationalā€ and ā€œdocumentaryā€, but unfortunately, the appeal was REJECTED.

I just wanted to let you know about this situation.

It’s incredibly frustrating and disheartening to see all the time, energy, and effort I poured into this project result in such limitations.

Despite this setback, I hope more content will be created to shed light on this INHUMANE SITUATION.

I really hope that human trafficking will be stopped, the current victims will be rescued, and these scam cities will be shut down once and for all.

Best,
Gabi

This is such a shame as it was a well made documentary on the insight of this industry and the plight of these poor people. Keep up the good work Gabi.

I shared to two friends, I copied the link and pasted at messager, but it require them to sign in first because they require the proof of age in order to be viewed. Your empathy and hardwork are greatly appreciated, don’t let the non-empathetic ones affect your mood/passion. You are doing right thing for the world.

Sorry to hear that Gabi. I watched it yesterday and I believe that there is bigger people behind it who just simply don’t want us to see and know that and I wouldn’t be surprised that these people are very known to all of us. These days nothing can surprise us anymore unfortunately and truth will come out one day, it’s just a waiting game. P.S. Keep up the work you do, you are great my friend, peace šŸ™

I’m Thai living in Canada. Thank you so much for the video. It’s sad that we can’t share your video directly. The only way to share it is by capturing the screen and posting it on my Facebook. Take care!

Thank you for the awesome videos of your travels. Hope you know that many people have been watching this. I subscribe to your channel but hadn’t seen this one and it was shared quite well on at least one other channel here in Thailand: TNT, Tim Newton’s news channel. It was a great informative video and should not have been removed by youtube. I will complain to them as much as possible. Also, I will continue to watch you and hope you remain safe and well.

Yes very disappointing! And there must be people who are making money from these scamming situations that are more widespread than one might think. With enough financial power to stop anything that may infringe on this power. But please keep making videos that speak to your heart. šŸ™

Don't be disheartened Gabi. People like you who stand up against perverse institutions often face resistance. But...I think it was Margaret Mead who said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

I know this is frustrating. We haven’t seen any of your videos for a while (you were taking a break) but we heard this one mentioned by Tim Newton on his show. My wife and I will definitely take time to watch it as what is happening in the north of Thailand and in Myanmar is very concerning.
