Still have fond memories of playing my beloved PSP after my parents got divorced and I was forced to move into my grandma's house that was abandoned for decades . No power, no water all I had was my psp to keep me sane so it'll always have a special place in my heart.

My choice would be my Steam Deck. It can emulate anything and everything that I grew up with, and it does it well.

PS Vita: Plenty of underrated titles that still haven’t received official ports anywhere else, and the ability to stream PS3 or PS4 games from a home console. Extremely ludicrous that Sony would give it little support for its all-too-brief lifespan, and expected consumers to purchase an additional expensive proprietary memory card alongside the device itself….

The GBA can play all Gameboy games, from GB, Color, to GBA. That made it an awesome handheld.

PS Vita. It plays its own games, plays PSP games, and has a well developed homebrew and emulation community.

Today 3DS Nintendo games just hold up so well. Yesteryear PSP because there was nothing like it at the time. For 8-9 years PSP was my favorite console.

PSP doesn't get enough love. I love playing the Syphon Filter games and Resistance Retribution on that hand-held.

3DS is currently the only place to play one of my all time favorite games, Shin Megami Tensei IV. Almost anything I care about from other handhelds has been ported to home consoles in one form or another, but the SMT games on DS/3DS are still locked to that platform.

The 3DS, I love how interactive it is FOR A HANDHELD for crying out loud. I get seriously immersed into that handheld. I’m convinced at this point that no company does handhelds like Nintendo. They’re very innovative with everything they do, and they’re never apprehensive to try new things. I’m a huge Sega fan, but Nintendo is the only company from the 80’s that’s still making new consoles. Their work ethic and being eager to try and learn new things is most admirable. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention every gaming company contributed greatly to my experience as a true avid gamer.
