Activist Witch🔮Ysha

Angela Puca doubling down on her weaponised ignorance showing once again she does not care for what actually hurts trans people and will not listen to them.
Her proud picture at platform 9¾ wearing Harry potter merch is still up and you can even find the comments of Terf ripping into me which she just let happen, gaslighting me to my face, two years ago, and again literally today as I commented on a post about her book, making people aware what Angela ignores on trans rights.

Make your educated decisions.

ps: Also, to the best of public information she does NOT teach anything remotely LGBTQ or gender studies related, not in any university at least. Which you know, as an actual brown trans non binary person who's an intersectionality educator, the falsehood to claim academic authority to prove what? An entitlement to be 💩 to trans people? That dishonesty irritates me the teensiest little bit.

The bookseller that posted her book blocked me for simply reporting on verifiable information still available online. Thank goodness I saved this comment

A person can’t claim to actively support trans people and promote an anti trans person at the same time. It doesn’t compute. I used to be a Harry Potter fan, I am one no longer. However hardcore fans of anything can be extreme. Whether it be book/film franchise fans or music fans. They’re like devout Christians but flogging themselves with potter merch instead of whips and chains.

I lost all respect for her when she held a round table on cultural appropriation without representation from the appropriated cultures. Just other white people 🙄

That last part with her saying that supporting anything from HP universe does not support the author is bananas to me. The news article are right there and her twitter. The books have been a contentious point in the reader world because a TON of people still hold the books dear but that massive elephant in the room of the author’s garbage is just there. I’ve had arguments about this until I was blue, you can ignore the elephant sure but it makes your other statements questionable. Like you stand for trans rights but are giving money to someone who openly and explicitly said any money will go to disparage and harm trans people directly. How can you say you support something while support a massive powerful entity that is against it. Personally for me, never had any relationship with the books beyond I read them as a kid and I moved on. I can understand books holding a dear place in people’s hearts but dropping HP was a no brainer. Hell even for the original actors like Daniel it wasn’t difficult even though he jump started his career.

@tulsalien

How people react to the HP stuff is such a litmus test now. Not that being dismissive is ever okay but it’s like 99% more likely that HP defenders are just generally dismissive of others feelings and concerns. That’s also just way too normalized.

@boneladders

thank you so much for spreading awareness about this! i was passively subscribed to her because i'd watched a few of her videos and found them interesting, but i wasn't actively engaging much so i didn't see the messed up stuff she's doing. glad i know now so i won't be supporting her anymore. so glad i found your channel, people have gotta realize that life IS political, and one's action or inaction is always affecting someone else's life. we've GOT to listen when someone else tells us harm is being done, and do our genuine best to help stop that harm. otherwise what even is the point of being alive on this Earth?

@Honey-athome

Supporting bad people makes you a bad person because your support helps fund their bad actions!!

@kadecorbett6745

Like it literally DOES translate into support for the author?! How does it not?

I understand that we have all experienced hp in a formative time in our life but no product should be so important for our personality that one reacts this way. I feel like real life morals should always prevale on silly little books and movies. Don't get me wrong, fiction has always been my safe place but we need to be critical of what we love and strive for it to be better 🤦🏻‍♀️ like I want jkr to stop being like this. And she has stated that she sees all the hp enjoyment as a thumbs up for her politics. It's not so hard. People have to read the text literally. There is no subtext. Death of the author isn't rea

Yes I feel that much benefit of the doubt was given in the initial contact but I really don’t believe it reflects well on anyone to be so blatantly disregarding the facts about what JKR is doing with the money earnt from HP… I know ppl will continue to cling to this idea that you can separate the art from the artist, but when you take into consideration the earnings and the power afforded by the wealth accumulated through that art it just doesn’t add up… one bad apple spoils the barrel. That’s JKR to HP. It’s ruined. Not least it’s very poor taste and offensive to ppl to have it slapped all over someone’s merchandise. Also what is she some kind of HP ambassador?! Has nothing to do with the academic work… so why?! This doubling down is an aggressive statement I feel. Sending u love Ysha and Raven ❤

Ooof. I've been a casual fan of Angela's for year now, I guess I should've been paying more attention. Sad and disappointed in her

@ReynaMaureen

Similarly this is the sort of blatant hypocrisy the actors for her new showing in production are spewing. It is baffling to hear this sort of response. People are too used to letting popularity rule their morality I guess. The only reason you should be giving HP money is if the creator is long dead and her heirs take a genuine and active stance to reverse the damage she has done.

Ummm.....engaging in Harry Potter shit absolutely does mean supporting the author. You are literally addit to her fortune when you buy HP themed snack foods or go to theme parks or watch the shows. I don't generally do a lot of boycotting myself and actually Harry Potter is easy for me to boycott because I was a grown up author at the time it came out and it was always pretty garbage to me. This isn't like back in the bad old days where the only fantasy available to watch was Conan, Red Sonya and Beastmaster lol. There is so much wonderful fantasy to engage with other than that made by slime balls. One thing that is hard for me to boycott is The IT Crowd. I loved that show. I watched it so much I could quote it word for word if I wanted to. There was an episode that hurt the trans community and then the writer reacted absolutely terribly in response. My boycott happened slowly. I was still watching sometimes...but I started choosing other things more when I would normally put on the reruns of IT Crowd. And then I thought maybe the writer had realized the errors of his ways and waited for an apology. No apology. My rerun watching slowly ground to a halt. I started thinking about the poor actors involved with the show that had to drag this around in their CV. I wondered if boycotting hurt them...did they get residuals? But I just couldn't watch. Anytime I did watch I would feel gross. And I started looking at the other jokes, and feel gross about them too. There were a lot of misogynist type jokes that seemed to be making fun of misogyny....but was it really? Or was it just giving it permission to continue on as normal because it's just something we can laugh at. It was Poe's telltale heart beating loud in my ears anytime I engaged with or enjoyed the content. Finally I just stopped. Maybe sometimes a clip comes up on YouTube and I indulge for old times sake but if anyone called me out for it...I would say "yeah,I'm sorry. You're right. I shouldn't." I wouldn't f-ing defend it. Jeez.
