Camp 216 home base is Mountain View Ranch in Southern Oregon. Camp 216 is not your regular travel trailer or RV camper! Camp 216 always gets strange looks while on the road and many inquiries for a camp tour whenever we pull in to a camp site or pull in to fuel up Big Red, our Ford F-350 tow vehicle. Camp 216 is an ultra-comfortable and completely self-contained four-season modern travel trailer modeled after the old nomadic sheep camps or range camps used in the sheep and cattle ranching industry. These camps are roomy and rugged. While built to withstand the rigors of off-road travel in a rugged ranching environment, they are equally comfortable on the open road. These camps are fully self-contained with four-season off-grid capabilities to keep you comfortable under all conditions. True four-season comfort includes robust insulation, a forced air propane fired gas furnace and a wood burning stove to keep you warm when it gets cold and an air conditioner to keep you cool when the temperature soars. Lighting includes LED and a propane gas lamp. Off-grid power is provided by a set of solar panels connected to solar charge controllers and a deep-cycle battery bank. Systems redundancy keeps these camps operational and comfortable in harsh environments and also make this the ideal travel trailer for both open highways and off-road adventures. The original builder, Timberline Range Camps, is no longer in existence.
