Town of Salem is a browser/Facebook game that revolves around duplicity, deduction, and not being on the wrong side of mob hysteria. Each townsperson has a specific role that they must carry out in order to emerge victorious. Every role is an enemy to *somebody*, and success hinges on carrying out your role without exposing yourself to those who want you dead. Each day, the town gathers around the gibbet to discuss. Each night, each person goes to sleep in fear of being stabbed, or perhaps they are the person doing the killing. The following morning, the dead are hauled out to the gibbet for the others to witness, and it is up to the town to reach consensus on who is to blame, and if enough blame is lumped on one person, whether or not they are suspicious enough to be hanged for conspiracy against the town. Is the man who works with knives a doctor or a serial killer? Is the leader among men the mayor or the godfather? And just who is the amnesiac? Who do the dead accuse? Can you ask the medium, or is she next on the Mafia's agenda to clean up their influence? Did the killer do so of his will, or was he possessed by a witch, or was he framed by an expert? INTRIGUE! It's a pretty great game, with decent music. www.blankmediagames.com/TownOfSalem/
