We knew that Sonic R was going to be a racing game, and we all agreed that the music had to be fast, to re-create the speed of the game, and also to be in the traditional Sonic style. I was asked to creat a song using vocals for the E3 show in Atlanta. So, the first song to be created was "Super Sonic Racing". This is a very catchy song which people can easily remember, and it is fast, just like the game. After the E3 show, I was asked to create all music with singing, so I began to write some lyrics, and as the game was further developed, I could see more graphics adn therefore write more lyrics and music. It was very hard to write the lyrics, as I wanted to create some songs that you could listen to as a music CD as well. When I finished writing the songs, I chose the singer T.J. Davis. She sings with some famous bands in the UK like Lisa Stansfield and D:REAM. She has a very good voice which is also very powerful. We recorded and mixed the music, and I was very pleased with the result.
