I make the choices that I, personally, think make for the best narrative, skipping over a lot of the environmental storytelling that makes for great gameplay, but a slower-paced viewing experience. Notably, choices I make aren't always the brightest (or most upstanding) choices for the characters, themselves. If you balk at that -- or even if you don't -- I fully recommend everyone play the game for themselves, seeing everything there is to see and making your own choices for Rhys and Fiona.
