Welcome to The Madrigal This kooky tune was conceived in the smoke-filled uni-jam sessions of these two Irish mateys. Inspired by their youthful view on the world, they marched to the beat of their own drum to make something truly special. The result is an earthy mixture of ethereal Celtic flutes bleeding into hazy Middle Eastern melodies, all underlaid with hard and heavy drums. This is the kind of kaleidoscopic mix of sounds heard back in the day at the sunsets of the Cafe Del Mar Ibiza. You can almost see the light on the water, taste the cocktails and feel that magical vibe... And it might never have come to light if destiny hadn't stepped in, reuniting the boys - a little wiser, even more widely travelled - to recapture the magic together, now, some twenty years later. And the dub... Welcome to the jungle, dark, deep, and vibrant - just waiting to be explored. Label head Jim Breese deconstructed this mesmerising tune and fed their heady beats into FX units and delays. He recorded the twisted sounds that came snarling out, and after one long session of expression and experimentation he found sense in the madness and built this gloriously dark and trippy Balearic Dub from the ground up. Tribal beats play with percussive bass tones. Wild rhythms grow amongst swelling congas. This is the perfect tune to get lost in. There are a lot of memories in Sunflower, a lot of good times. So sit back, close your eyes, and dream...
