#HaltAGI why we should not seek to create artificial general intelligence

I strongly believe we should *not* rush toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The risks far outweigh the benefits, and instead of aiming to build machines that surpass human intelligence, we should focus on creating "Intelligent Assistance" (IA) systems that enhance human capabilities without trying to replicate or replace us. The pursuit of AGI raises profound ethical and existential questions—ones we are nowhere near ready to answer. Rather than blindly advancing AGI, I advocate for a global conversation on its long-term consequences. We need strict ethical frameworks, safety measures, and a clear understanding of what we’re actually trying to achieve. Technology should serve humanity, not the other way around. Instead of chasing artificial superintelligence, let’s prioritize human-centric innovation that amplifies creativity, empathy, and purpose. Related: Read. New: Read: keepthefuturehuman.ai/
