UK Alaska & Yamaha DX7 Demo

This is a playlist for my original Yamaha DX7 analog patch and the original song. I am a fan of progressive rock and I discovered UK back in the mid 1980's. I did't make this amazing DX7 synth brass patch intentionally to re-create UK Alaska, but I happened to make this patch back in 1987 and I was amazed how it resembled the analog synth brass sound from UK Alaska, particularly with its natural flanging effect. Although this is not an emulation, I created this DX7 patch to demonstrate its unique capability. Unlike the original analog synth brass sound (I read somewhere that they used Yamaha CS-80), this is a very powerful DX7 synth brass sound with ‘ear-piecing’ mid-range harmonics as well as it’s own flanging effect. What you hear is mostly the dry sound, as I only used a touch of chorus and delay to make it a stereo sound. Other videos: I included UK's original songs and album for you to enjoy listening and comparing the Yamaha DX7 sound against the original sound. About Power DX7 I am a proud owner of the Yamaha DX7 Mk 1. I bought my DX7 back in 1986, as I saw a great potential with its FM Synthesis engine. I did;t like most of those factory ROM presets that came with the DX7, as they do not showcase the true capability of the Yamaha DX7 with breathtaking sonic quality, realism and expression. That’s the reason why I have been making my own DX7 patches since 1986.
