"Walter Rolfe was an American songwriter and composer of popular music with more than 300 pieces of music to his credit. Born in Rumford Corners, Maine, he lived and worked in Massachusetts, where he taught piano and music theory. He wrote much highly sentimental descriptive music for piano which was typical in the ragtime era.
