“The Optimist” features the comic adventures of a daydreaming everyman who causes chaos and confusion.
In the tradition of Buster Keaton, Stan Laurel and Jaques Tati, and with a touch of a Walter Mitty, he’s the eternal romantic even when the realities of life are stacked against him.
Filmed on location in Los Angeles, London, and Cabo San Lucas between 1981 and 1984, this ambitious British comedy series preceded Mr Bean by seven years.
Thirteen dialogue-free, self-contained stories, with original music scores that highlight the comedy. Shot on film, the two seasons have been extensively restored and remixed.
