10 years ago things were bleak. PS4 was an uncertainty. Vita and Wii U were suffering. 3DS was a moderate success but anything breaking records seemed like a relic of a bygone era. Evergreens were also rare at that time.
What a turnaround. Bravo.
So glad the last piece of hardware Iwata signed off on saved Japan. Nothing less would do him justice.

- Switch is now the best-selling game system in Japan
- Switch software sales in Japan have surpassed that of the Famicom and now holds the record for the biggest software sales ever in Japan.
- Switch software sales in the Americas have surpassed that of the Wii and now holds the record for the biggest software sales ever for a Nintendo platform in the Americas.
- Switch software sales in Europe alone have surpassed that of the Wii and NDS in Europe + Other.
Also worth noting that the amount of bundled software sold jumped up significantly due to all the holiday bundles, from 1.10M during FY3/2023 Q1-Q3 to 2.80M during FY3/2024 Q1-Q3. #monolithsoft
