One of Austin’s most enduring and internationally influential bands, Spoon has spent decades refining a sound built on sharp songwriting, inventive production and unmistakable restraint. This KUTX archival collection follows the band across several chapters of its history: a 2014 performance in KUTX Studio 1A; a special 2021 session recorded for KUTX at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn during the pandemic; and a 2022 Austin City Limits Music Festival interview with frontman Britt Daniel. The collection also includes Daniel’s guest appearance with Margaret Glaspy in Studio 1A, reflecting the collaborative relationships that connect Spoon to artists in Austin and beyond. Together, these performances and conversations document Spoon’s lasting connection to Austin while capturing a band—and a songwriter—that has continually evolved without losing its identity.
