The good news is- as of Jan. 5 2025 the law that made it illegal to shoot and post video or stills to tik tok, YouTube and other social media without an expensive permit, is no longer in effect. On that date a new law was passed on that date and now crews of up to 6 can shoot in NPs without a permit. This means I can shoot in the parks again with my pro cameras and not on the sly with my phone and goPros.
It also means I'll be updating videos many of you, my subscribers, have seen. It's important to me to make sure my shows are accurate.
So, if you're wondering why "that video again" that's why. THanks for understanding.

FYI- Since August, I've been working on 90+ minute guide to Moab Utah's parks and Lesser known places in the area. I went there again in June and in October to get more footage and go to places I hadn't been to before. The whole video could be ready by the weekend. I'll be releasing an updated Dead Horse Point video (5 ish minutes) in the next day or 2. Then, I may release a longer, all new Needles District video.
If you're looking for get away- Moab is a great place to Visit in the Fall through the Spring with smaller crowds and lower hotel prices.

I'm putting out another VR video tomorrow. I know most of you don't like these but those who can't get to these places have commented they really like them- especially the ability to look where ever they want. I tend to lose subs everytime I put one of these out. If you don't like these please know I am working on new detailed videos but they take 100s of hours to make and YT algorithm requires new content. My day job pays the bills not YT so it has priority.

I'm premiering another VR video- where you can control where the camera looks. This time the camera drives down the Shafer Trail in Moab's Canyonlands NP. I shot it the week before the flash floods hit Moab. 57 minutes of the drive is captured and you can control the camera the entire way.
You need a fast internet connection for the best quality. A phone connection results in a fuzzy image. If watching on a smart TV or computer set the YouTube resolution to at least 1080 by using the tools icon which is the cog.

Once again I've posted a VR 360 video. This one seems to work! These videos should be viewed on a computer or a phone. Use your fingers or the mouse to point the camera anywhere you like. Also, i've added chapter marks so its easy to jump right to the arch.
The video starts at the parking lot and covers every inch all the way to Mesa Arch.

This week was National Park week. To help promote the parks the number one morning show in DFW asked to interview me to talk about my channel. I hate being on camera but did it anyway. I was live for over 4 minutes. I still haven't watched it but I'm posting it.
Also, I'll be heading back to Big Bend to shoot more footage of that amazing place next week. And then Utah to update that video series.

Well I've finally finished some video. I'm a history buff, these videos tour Native American ruins and other sites in the southwest- New Mexico and the Four Corners. The big one is 80 minutes long and covers 13 places of interest including a look at history changing 23,000 year old foot prints in White Sands National Park. I tend to run on and impart as much info as possible so when you get bored please skip ahead until you find something more interesting to you.

This channel is dedicated to helping you explore the west. My videos typically take weeks or may months to make. In between releases of my epic guides I'm going to start publishing National Park Videos made by the park services. The first was produced by in 1930 by the Great Northern Railway. It's quite fun to see the park in B&W in a time when you got there by steam train.
