We’re enjoying the journey of building our herd, moving slowly toward 80% full-blood Australian Whites and 20% F1, F2, and F3s. 🧬 It’s all a learning process, and we give all glory to God for it. We thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for every up and down along the way—it’s those times that really teach us how to be better shepherds. 🙏🚜🌾

Here’s a look at the current rotation! 🐑🌾 We are pulling the flock out of this section right now, intentionally leaving 10 to 20 inches of tall grass behind.
It might look like a lot of leftover feed, but that tall grass canopy is doing some heavy lifting. It keeps the soil cool and moist so the underground microbiology can thrive and feed the roots.
Plus, keeping the grass tall transforms the pasture into a sanctuary. We’ve already started seeing more wildlife, beneficial insects, and birds returning to the property because they finally have the cover and food they need.
Healthy soil, happy sheep, thriving wildlife. 🌍❤️
