Just a heads up, I'm actively uploading shorts of my Manlybadasshero out of context video, mostly to keep some consistent uploads on this channel (and hopefully get some people interested in watching that video). I've also noticed that any community posts that have a video linked get no traction at all. So instead, googly-eyed Manly:
Not a surprise that the algorithm isn't a huge fan of me after I stopped uploading for over a year and changed my channel name, but it's still unfortunate :p I've got some shorts of my existing videos set to upload weekly as an offering to the algorithm, and one day I'll just bite the bullet and make *another* real Vsauce but out of context video, but it seems that most people (and the YT Gods) want 10 minute ish videos, and those take so long to make ðŸ˜

I might do more Vsauce shorts OOC since Vsauce is what everybody likes, and they're pretty quick to make. But of course, people who watch more longervideos don't usually see the shorts.
For "X but out of context" videos, what length of videos would y'all like to see? Shorter is easier, safer for me to make (less time and energy used if a video doesn't pan out), and easier to hold longer retention for. But of course, longer videos have more content, allow me to split and distribute content from the same videos more easily and (if I hit 8 minutes), would hit the threshold for midroll ads. What do y'all think?
Should I rebrand to something "Out of context" related? It's basically my only content that actually hits any audience, and I don't use this channel as my personal channel anymore. I'm not planning on deleting my old content, and I still might upload the occasional unrelated shitpost, but I really feel like I have some good out of context videos left in me, and not much of anything else. Besides, [DATA EXPUNGED] isn't exactly a very original/distinctive channel name...
While I already was on a sort of hiatus anyway, Trump getting elected means that all of my existing life plans are upended to such a major extent that I'm officially on an indefinite hiatus. I wish everybody luck during this time.
