In Sūrah Ar-Raḥmān, Allah repeatedly asks:
“So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?”
(55:13)
The repetition is a reminder that Allah’s blessings surround us — from the air we breathe, the Qur’an we recite, the earth beneath our feet, to the countless gifts we often forget.
Pause. Reflect. Be grateful.

The Duʿāʾ You Never Expected to Be Answered…
A teacher noticed that one of his students had exceptional manners. The child was respectful, humble, truthful, and a joy to teach.
He thought to himself, "Surely this must be the child of a great scholar."
Curious, he made some enquiries. To his surprise, the boy's father was not a scholar at all. He was an ordinary Muslim.
When he finally met the father, he asked him:
"What did you do to raise such a remarkable child?"
The father replied:
"Wallāhi, I don't know that I did anything special. But whenever I see someone else's child, I make duʿāʾ: 'O Allah, make this child righteous, grant them excellent character, and make them a source of joy to their parents.'"
Perhaps that sincere duʿāʾ for other people's children was accepted... and the angels replied:
"Āmīn. And may Allah grant you the same."
How often do we criticize, envy, or backbite other people's children?
What if, instead, we filled our tongues with duʿāʾ for them?
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that when a Muslim makes duʿāʾ for his brother or sister in their absence, the angels say: "Āmīn, and may you have the same."
Normalize making duʿāʾ for others instead of speaking ill of them.
Perhaps the very duʿāʾ you make for someone else's child will return to bless your own.

📢 Should the Friday Khutbah Be Fully in Arabic?
The khutbah is not just to be heard—it’s to be understood. A weekly reminder to teach, admonish, soften hearts, and bring us closer to Allah.
✨ “Remind, for indeed the reminder benefits the believers.” (Qur'an 51:55)
Scholars agree Arabic is best for the khutbah, but it can also be delivered in the language of the congregation to ensure its message is truly understood.
📌 Khateebs: Preserve the beauty of Arabic where required, but reach hearts first.
📌 Musallīn: Let your imams know which language helps you benefit most.
The goal isn’t just to hear the khutbah—it’s to understand, reflect, and act.
