THE Copper Queens have dropped one place down on the latest Coca-cola FIFA Women's World Rankings from 69th to 70th on the globe.

This is according to the Rankings released today by FIFA . In the period under review, Zambia beat better ranked Morocco 2-0 and 6-2 in international friendlies before emerging second at the 2023 COSAFA Women's Championship which was eventually won by Malawi who have moved three places up from 159th to 156th in the World. The loss to Malawi seemingly disadvantaged the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) bronze medalists on the World Rankings.

Zambia also whitewashed Angola 12-0 on aggregate to stop the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

However, in Africa, the Copper Queens have moved one place up from 7th to 6th, displacing the Ivory Coast.

On the globe, World champions Spain have moved one place up to occupy top position, replacing Sweden who have dropped to 5th. Multi-time World Cup winners USA are now 2nd while the Herve Renard coached France have moved two places up to 3rd.

2023 World Cup finalists England remain 4th with Sweden 5th. Germany, Netherlands, Japan, South Korea and Canada complete the top 10.

In Africa, Nigeria are still top, seconded by African champions South Africa. Morocco are 3rd while Ghana and Cameroon complete the top five. The rest of the top 10 sees, Zambia, Ivory Coast , Tunisia, Mali and Equatorial Guinea. All the teams in the CAF top 10 except Mali, have dropped significantly on the World rankings.

4. Ghana(61)- Dropped 2 places down on the World Rankings.

5. Cameroon(68)- Dropped 12 places down on the World Rankings.

6. Zambia(70)- Dropped one place down on the World Rankings.

7. Ivory Coast (71)- Dropped 5 places down on the World Rankings.

8. Tunisia (77)- Dropped one place down on the World Rankings.

9. Mali(81)- Climbed one place up on the World Rankings.

10. Equatorial Guinea (82)- Dropped 3 places down on the World Rankings.
